Getting to know CCALT’s New Events and Logistics Manager

Morgan Weinrich is the newest member of the Colorado Cattlemen’s Agriculture Land Trust (CCALT) team. As the events and logistics manager, Morgan will oversee all of CCALT’s events and support the executive director in broader organizational and logistical support. Morgan is a proud Colorado native and a recent Colorado State University graduate.

Where are you from?

I was born and raised in Yuma, Colorado. Growing up in a rural agricultural community developed my appreciation for farming and ranching from a young age. Today, my parents still live in Yuma, and I gladly make the drive home to visit whenever I get the chance.

Tell us something most people don’t know about you…

In high school, I was active in our school drama club. I loved to sing, dance, and act on stage. I can’t say I have carried my acting talent past high school, but I do love to sing Karaoke now!

What did you study at CSU?

I have a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science with a minor in Agriculture Literacy.

What is your favorite activity to do in Colorado?

In the summer, I love to golf. I started golfing at a young age, and it has been a favorite hobby ever since!

What is your greatest accomplishment?

During college I was a member of the 2016 Livestock Judging Team at CSU. While most of my teammates judged when they were younger or in junior college, I had never judged until I was on the team at CSU. Having little to no prior experience meant that I had to work extra hard to earn a spot marking cards (judging) on the floor. I am proud to say that I got to mark cards at multiple contests throughout the year. Today I am thankful for the skills I learned and I value the life-long friendships and relationships that I made through livestock judging.

Why are you excited to work at CCALT?

After graduating from CSU, and with a broad range of agricultural experiences and an ag background, I struggled to find my place in Colorado’s agriculture industry. I’m excited to plant my roots at CCALT and to work for an organization that connects with both agriculture and conservation. I am eager to learn more about CCALT’s ties to the Cattlemen’s Association and I am honored to be part of the team.
