2013 Sunset BBQ at the Sinclaire-Brooks Ranch
July 13, 2013 @ 5:00 pm
Details
The 2013 Summer Sunset BBQ was held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 in Sedalia, Colorado. The board and staff of the Colorado Cattlemen’s Agricultural Land Trust would like to thank everyone who attended or supported the 2013 Sunset BBQ at the Sinclaire-Brooks Ranch. The proceeds from the event went toward the protection of Colorado’s beautiful and productive agricultural lands. The BBQ was the most successful event that CCALT has hosted.
As an additional success, CCALT and their generous donors raised over $21,000 for conservation in the Powell Park area near Meeker, Colorado during the dinner. Powell Park is a relatively small, but highly productive, working landscape in the heart of the White River Valley. Since the 1880’s, the ranching families in the area have sustained the local economy and western heritage of northwest Colorado. Unfortunately, in the past 15 years, multiple parcels have been subdivided and this fragmentation threatens the future of Powell Park.
CCALT’s supporters came forward during the BBQ and helped pay for the staff and transaction expenses to protect two of the most visible and most productive ranches in Powell Park, including two miles of the White River. Their financial support will help CCALT to protect these 800 acres forever. Special thanks go to Bill and Joanne Sinclaire, BBQ sponsors, the CCALT event committee and all of our wonderful volunteers.
