The staff at CCALT is talented, reliable, and innovative in all things land trust-related. However, individually they are much more than what you may see at CCALT events, meetings, and workshops. Their hobbies, experiences, and quirks are what make them unique and exciting to work with. The following blog will test your knowledge about individual staff members, and may help you get to know them even better. Below you will see two truths and one lie about each CCALT staffer. Your job is to decipher which two statements are true, and which statement is a lie. Answers are posted at the bottom. Good luck! 

Megan Knott:

1. I received a scholarship to play Division 1 softball in college. My position was shortstop.
2. My daughter, Ella Mae Knott, is named after her great grandmother on her father’s side who ranched in Yampa, CO and is buried in the Yampa Cemetery.
3. I studied abroad on Vancouver Island in Canada, specializing in fisheries and forestry.

Molly Fales:

1. I was featured as a flower girl in the February 1998 Town & Country magazine.
2. I rowed crew in the 1st varsity 8 at Dartmouth for three years, placing 8th at the NCAA championships in 2007.
3. I was a gingersnap kid in the Nutcracker ballet.

Erik Glenn:

1. I’m ambidextrous.
2. I play the fiddle.
3. I was the kicker for the state championship East High football team my senior year of high school.

Maggie Hanna:

1. I grew up with a pet pig named Gwendolyn.
2. I once rode 200 miles of the Santa Fe Trail, ending in Trinidad, with a full pack string.
3. I have my pilot’s license.

Courtney Bennett:

1. I have completed over 2,500 hours of volunteer service working as an Americorps Volunteer.
2. I’ve gone skydiving in New Zealand.
3. After graduating from high school, I traveled through Europe visiting five different countries including Germany, France, Spain, Austria, and the Netherlands.    

Alyssa Street:

1. I am a Colorado native who enjoys spending the weekends in the mountains jeeping with my husband and Border Collie.
2. I studied at a university in Germany and spent a year traveling through Western Europe.
3. I am related to Huston Street, former Colorado Rockies pitcher.

Anne Rogers:

1. I met my husband Ben at a pub in Chicago on the Fourth of July.   It was a chance meeting, but we have been together for over 20 years.
2. The summer after my junior year of college, I worked with an all-girl crew at a pick-your-own strawberry farm in Wisconsin called The Elegant Farmer. 
3. When I was growing up in Iowa we hunted for morel mushrooms every spring.

Jayne Thompson:

1. I was a host on a kids Discovery Channel TV show my freshman year of high school. 
2. Last summer I hiked across the southern end of the Wind River Range from Pinedale, WY to Lander, WY through the Cirque of the Towers and Jackass Pass.
3. I learned to drive when I was eight and my first vehicle was a 1971 blue Ford pickup.

ANSWERS:

Megan Knott: The lie is that I played shortstop. I was actually a pitcher.

Molly Fales: The lie is that I was a gingersnap kid in the ballet. I was actually a mouse.

Erik Glenn: The lie is that I was the kicker on the football team.

Maggie Hanna: The lie is that I have my pilot’s license.

Courtney Bennett: The lie is that I visited five different counties in Europe. I only visited three countries while traveling, I didn’t make it to France or Spain.

Alyssa Street: The lie is that I’m related to Huston Street. We aren’t related, but I get asked that all the time.

Anne Rogers: The lie is that I met my husband on the Fourth of July. I actually met him on St. Patrick’s Day!

Jayne Thompson: The lie is that I hiked from Pinedale to Lander. I have hiked to the Cirque of the Towers, but not through. That is still a goal.
